Step 1 ... Building the Felter's Palette
White wools are dyed in a canning pot. It takes weeks to stock pile enough color, but when it's finally done, the result is thrilling! All the colors you see in the picture started out as white fluff.

My wools are mothproofed in the dye bath. Just in case you were worried that bugs might eat your valuable work of art.

I use industrial dyes, boiled and set in a strong acid solution overnight. There is NO BLEED when the wools are washed the next day. These colors do not fade.

Finished works should be vacuumed regularly to extract dust. Artworks can be washed, gently, by hand or dry cleaned, without any ill effects.
